THE YEARS OF CREATIVITY

It’s the mid-eighties, capital market related activities are experiencing very sharp qualitative and quantitative development. This boom is under-laid by prosperity but also by a period of intense creativity. The craze for equity markets is strengthened by a high level of research, the origin of modern financial theory, in particular in the evaluation of financial assets. The options and futures markets are developing a high rate of instability, an environment that makes these hedge products particularly attractive and prone to innovation -The MATIF, the French futures exchange in 1986 and then the MONEP, the Paris negotiable options market in 1987.

Olivier Chappe and François Vincent meet during this period. Both captivated and fascinated by the dynamism and creativity of trading rooms, the two see a tremendous opportunity in the current change in financial markets. They decide to build a specialized skills offer to support these major changes.

It was in this spirit that ITHAQUE was born. From its first days, ITHAQUE has been contributing implementation and organisation of the terminal and options markets for the Paris market place and major banking institutions.
